The application is easy to use and difficult to monitor. And it will help legal entities to comply with the documents and actions necessary to respond to the requirements of the General Regulations on Data Protection.
How is the questionnaire?
As stated in the official presentation of the application, the questionnaire consists of four modules. In the first, the companies indicate in which sector or business they work and what type of information they can handle according to their commercial activity.
From certain initial data, Facilitates RGPD requests other basic information like the name of the company, telephones, CIF, etc. In the third module the digital application will ask for information on the current treatment given to the information of the natural persons involved with it.
Finally, the application will generate the documentation required to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations.
Objectives of Facilita RGPD: Legal adaptation, cooperation and advice
The digital questionnaire is another initiative undertaken by the AEPD to encourage companies to comply with the new regulation, which will come into effect on May 25, 2018. It is announced that it will be quite rigid.
With this instrument companies can be aware of the new regulatory requirements and legally adapt in advance. The questionnaire does not include any type of monitoring, but it grants facilities to the private ones to make the necessary corrective ones.
The documentation that will be obtained by the companies once they complete the form are the following: registration of treatment activities, clauses in case of hiring of a management company for the protection of information, minimum security measures and information clause.
Cooperation for law enforcement
During the presentation of this new tool, the General Protocol of Action was announced to promote the dissemination of the RGPD. In it, the Spanish Data Protection Agency, the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE) and the Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises (CEPYME) join forces to carry out informational work.
It was also learned that the Agency will present the Facilitated RGPD tool to the European Data Protection Authorities Group. The aim is for these agents to study and promote their implementation in the other Member States of the European Union.
This initiative is very useful for the medium and small business. Recall that the AEPD has registered more than 4,500,000 million private files, corresponding to SMEs in their majority. Spanish survey companies believe that most businesses are unaware of what they should do to protect their customers' data.
Best of all is that answering the online questionnaire will not take more than 20 minutes.
